What Happened Yesterday (23th September 2025)?

         Hello friends, it is heartbreaking for all of us that Zubeen Garg, a well-known musician, singer, songwriter, actor, director and filmmaker, primarily worked and sang in the AssameseBengali, and Hindi-language film and music industries.
       Zubeen Garg was not only a musician he was heartbeat of Assam, voice of Assam for nearly 3 decades. The Government of Assam honoured him with a 21 guns salute in Guwahati. he has been 52 years and passed in Singapore during a concert his body flow on back to India on 21st September. After reaching to India there was a second autopsy of him to rule out any foul play
         
            At the cremation ground, the sheer depth of public emotion was palpable as the massive crowd collectively sang lines from one of his biggest hits, "Mayabini." A Voice That Defined a Generation. Garg’s musical journey began when he was just 19. His debut album, 'Anamika,' released in 1992, was an instant chartbuster, marking the rise of a phenomenon. His career soared during a period of considerable political tension and violence in Assam. His lively melodies about love, hope, and despair—often embellished with catchy riffs—offered a breath of fresh air and a sense of shared community in a tense social landscape.
      He is well known for his Assamese song Tumi Mor matho mor, he got his national popularity by song "ya Ali"  from 2006 film "gangster".
              In total, he sang in more than 40 languages and dialects over his 33-year career. He could transition effortlessly from rock anthems to regional folk music like Bihu, Borgeet, and Zikir, ensuring his appeal spread across generations and communities. For his fans, Zubeen Garg was more than just a celebrity—he was an "emotion." 
                   
            During the 2020 COVID pandemic, he even offered his apartment to the government to be used as an isolation centre. These charitable efforts were often facilitated by his extensive network of fan clubs across the state. Now, those same clubs are the ones organising tributes and managing the immense crowds as they grieve his loss. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other prominent politicians and musicians joined the countless fans mourning his passing. Assam has appropriately declared three days of mourning to honour the man whose voice defined its cultural soundtrack. Though the legendary singer is gone, the echo of his versatile voice and the memory of his compassionate heart will forever resonate in the soul of Assam.
