1. Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Easter falls on the Sunday after the first Full Moon that follows the Spring Equinox. This year, Easter falls on Sunday 31 Mar, 2024.
2. IMD Predict rainfall till 5 April : The IMD on Saturday said parts of northeast are likely to get scattered to widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, due to a cyclonic circulation over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and the neighbourhood, from March 30 to April 5.
3. President Droupadi Murmu conferred the prestigious Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, on Saturday, at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Former prime ministers P V Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh, agriculture scientist M S Swaminathan, and two-time former Bihar chief minister Karpoori Thakur were honored posthumously.
4. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a notification banning the conduct, publication or publicising of exit polls between 7.00 a.m. on April 19 and 6.30 p.m. on June 1 when votes will be cast for the Lok Sabha and four State Assembly polls.

After quitting Union cabinet, Paras says he's still with NDA: Former Union minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, who quit after his Lok Janshakti Party faction was not given any seat by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance in Bihar for the Lok Sabha elections, on Saturday announced his party's support to the ruling alliance, ending speculation over his next course of action.
9. Archana Patil Chakurkar, daughter-in-law of senior Congress leader and former Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, joins Bharatiya Janata Party, in the presence of Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, in Mumbai.

1. Samajwadi Party leader Zaheer Salmani's wife Nazreen was shot dead by an unknown miscreant in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur on Saturday.
2. Five people have been booked in connection with the killing of the Kar Sewa chief of Nanakmatta Gurdwara, Baba Tarsem Singh, in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar district. A retired IAS officer who heads the gurdwara's management committee is also among those booked.
3. BJP on Friday filed a complaint with the Election Commission, alleging that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's son Yathindra Siddaramaiah violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by using "abusive words" to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
4. The Delhi Police on March 30 filed its first chargesheet against news portal NewsClick and its founder Prabir Purkayastha, in a case lodged under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, following allegations that they received funds through Chinese firms to spread pro-China propaganda.
5. I.N.D.I.A bloc Maharally, which is being held by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on March 31, the Delhi Police has taken thorough preparations, including screening at every gate and deploying paramilitary forces in and around Ramlila Maidan.
6. The mortal remains of Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari were laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard at Kalibagh in Yusufpur on Saturday amid tight security arrangements.
Mukhtar’s eldest son Abbas could not be present as he is lodged in Kasganj jail. The late don’s wife Afsa was also not present as she is absconding and state police had announced a reward of Rs one lakh on her head.
Mukhtar died due to a massive heart attack in Banda medical college hospital on Thursday night. He was lodged in the Banda jail since past over two-and-a-half years.
7. Delhi minister and AAP leader Kailash Gahlot was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy. Mr Gahlot is currently the minister for home, transport, and law in the Delhi government.
8. The Centre has warned citizens against using USB phone charging ports in public places like airports, cafes, hotels, bus stands etc.

1. India’s foreign exchange reserves increased by 140 million dollars to touch its all-time high of 642.631 billion dollars during the week ended on the 22nd of March.
The data released by the Reserve Bank of India said, this is the fifth consecutive week of a jump in the overall reserves. The kitty had increased by 6.396 billion dollars to 642.492 billion dollars in the previous reporting week.
2. Gold reserves increased by 347 million dollars to 51.487 billion dollars during the week.
3. The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB), the head-hunting agency for public sector banks and insurance firms, has selected the next Chairpersons and Managing Directors (CMDs) for New India Assurance and United India Insurance.
Girija Subramanian, the current Chairperson and MD of Agriculture Insurance Company (AIC), has been selected as the next CMD of New India Assurance. Bhupesh Sushil Rahul, a General Manager at AIC, has been chosen as the new CMD of United India Insurance.
4. Microsoft has named Pavan Davuluri as the new head of its combined Windows and Surface teams.

1. Tamil actor Daniel Balaji passed away on Friday, March 29 night. He suffered a heart attack following which he was rushed to a private hospital in Chennai, where he breathed his last. He was 48.
2. The sequel of the superhit 2005 comedy film No Entry 2 is one the most-anticipated movies that the audience is eagerly waiting for. After a wait of 20 years, producer Boney Kapoor has confirmed that the sequel is finally in the works.
The second instalment of the movie will have the entire new lead cast. Varun Dhawan, singer Diljit Dosanjh and Boney's son Arjun Kapoor will be headlining the forthcoming comedy drama. The second part will not have any stars from the 2005 movie, the producer has confirmed.

1. Assam government extended AFSPA in Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Charaideo, Sivasagar till Sep 30, 2024, due to improved law and order, except for one active militant group, following Centre's directive and security forces empowerment.
2. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has disclosed the reasons behind the accidental firing of a BrahMos combat missile into Pakistan in March 2022. The IAF revealed that the combat connectors of the missile remained connected to the junction box, causing the accidental firing. A Court of Inquiry held that a convoy commander failed to ensure the disconnection of combat connectors before movement.

4. Five people were killed and dozens others were wounded by gunfire and a stampede during an aid delivery on Saturday (March 30) in northern Gaza, Palestinian Red Crescent said. The northern Gaza has been the epicenter of the fighting between Israel and Hamas.
5. Eight Chinese migrants were found dead on a beach in southern Mexico after the boat they were on capsized.
6. Baltimore's collapsed bridge reconstruction is expected to take anywhere from 18 months to several years, and the estimated $400 million in expenditures could double that amount, according to experts.

Presence of various minerals and salts, marble takes on many stunning natural colours, from purest white to shimmering greens. Different colours are caused by different substances. As an example, black veins or grey shading is usually caused by carbon impurities while green is linked to serpentine.
There are rich marble deposits in the states of Rajasthan, which accounts for the huge production of marble in India; the other marble-producing states include Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
